Tis the season! Time to find that perfect gift for that special someone.
This year, instead of that bottle of perfume or that tie, consider giving a gift for the home, which would be exceptionally beneficial for friends and family members that have recently bought their first home.

Following are several ideas for gifts that could be put to good use in the home:

Swiffer Sweep and Vac -- great for all types of flooring, it is safe to use on wood, laminate, tile and vinyl. It's lightweight and can easily be taken from room to room.
Tools -- for all those do-it-yourself jobs; if they are newer handyman, stick with the basics like a nice hammer, ratchet set, screwdriver set, power drill or power saw. For the experienced handyman, try a reciprocating saw, orbital sander or nail gun and air compressor.

Tool chests and boxes -- good for organizing all those tools used to fix up the home!

Any kitchen appliances -- help the new homeowners furnish their kitchen with a fun appliance, like a toaster oven, bread machine, fondue pot or indoor grill.

Accessories -- any finishing decorating touches such as throw pillows, floral arrangements, candles and rugs will be helpful to complete the home's look.
