A New Trend--Dual Master Suites

The Indy Star's home section, Sunday Homescape , featured an article about the increasing trend of two master suites. Following is an excerpt from the article by Susan Sullivan of Custom Publications: "Whether it's the need to care for an aging parent, provide teenagers with more space for studying and sleepovers, or a desire to offer guests more privacy, homeowners increasingly are interested in floor plans with two master bedroom suites. With multi-generational households on the rise, many homeowners find one master suite isn't enough. A survey by the National Association of Homebuilders indicated that by 2015, 60% of new custom homes will have dual master bedroom suites. Sometimes called the owner's suite, the largest suite typically is composed of a spacious bedroom with adjoining bath and walk-in closet. Here are 3 areas of your home many people overlook when preparing their home for winter: Gutters: This is the time of the year to inspect the gutters for leaks and making sure the gutters drain properly. November is also a good time to clean out the gutters that contain leaves and other debris. It is best to clean the gutters after the most of the leaves have fallen form the trees near your home. Gutters that are not cleaned can cause ice damming, which is where water remains in the gutters, freezes and can cause roof leaks/damage. Gutter guards are a great way to keep your gutters clear from debris. Most gutter companies will clean your gutters when installing them, so just ask. Foundation Vents: These are located at ground level and are needed to vent the home's crawl space. They are roughly 16” wide and 10” tall.
