State figures were released two weeks ago that showed how many students graduate from high school in four years at Indiana schools. The figures showed Zionsville High School graduates 96.1% of its seniors in four years, a respectable and admirable feat. In an Indy Star article, Superintendent Scott Robinson said, "The Zionsville Community Schools is blessed with a productive web of communitywide supports." He also said that the data provides good information about how to help students who may not be among those receiving their Zionsville diplomas.

Go Colts!!!

How can I not post on our Indianapolis Colts?! It is wonderful to live in Indy year round, but especially exciting this week with the entire city celebrating the Colts. There is something incredibly special about an entire city rallying around their team. It has been said that Indy fans are too nice, but the Colts have enjoyed an enviable home field advantage this entire season while not losing a single game at home. The regular season games have been loud, and the RCA Dome has vibrated at times with the noise. I can only imagine the intensity that will lift the crowd (and the players) during Sunday's game. Colts fans are loyal, devoted, enthusiastic. I am proud to be one of them. The Official Website of the Indianapolis Colts

Image
It's inevitable. At some point this winter, it will snow here in Indianapolis. And when it does, everyone will break out the snow shovels and bags of salt. While they may help you dig out from the snow, salt and ice removers can be hard on your concrete driveway and sidewalks. To protect your driveway and avoid cracks and damage, follow these tips: 1). During first winter, don't use salt or other de - icers , especially if the concrete was placed after mid-September. Use sand instead. 2). De- icers containing salt or calcium chloride should be safe for use on concrete surfaces after the first winter. Never use a de - icer on concrete that contains either ammonium sulphate or ammonium nitrate. They have been proven to damage concrete surfaces. 3). If there is a heavy concentration or build up of de - icers on concrete, it is recommended that the area be hosed off with water. This makes for a cleaner area for the drive and the home.
