Fishers, Indiana A Dynamic Place to Live

Guest blog by Sara Guest; Marketing & Client Coordinator for Diane Brooks.

According to Forbes & Money magazine, Fishers IN is one of the best places in the U.S. to raise a family. I wholeheartedly agree since my husband and I are doing just that. We’ve moved to Fishers not once but twice in the past 12 years; after a brief stint out of state we were drawn back to this outstanding area and the quality of life it offers. With a 2009 population of 65,000, Fishers is one of the fastest growing cities in Indiana. An award winning Hamilton Southeastern School Corporation is a strong draw for families with children, but this isn’t just a place for young families, a Del Webb 50+ community is popular with seniors as well.

We’ve enjoyed great community activities like the annual Fishers Freedom Festival, Flavor of Fishers; offering a taste of local restaurants in a festival setting, and the free Summer Concert Series, where this year over 6,000 residents were delighted with free ice cream donated by local businesses. Conner Prairie, a nationally acclaimed interactive history park has also been a favorite of our family with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s Symphony on the Prairie series in the summer and Headless Horseman family activities in the fall.

The friendliness of the people is probably the best part of living in Fishers. My sister recently moved here from Chicago and was amazed at the warmth and helpfulness of everyone she came in contact with. After having lived in five cities & states throughout my adult life, I’m proud now to call Fishers my home. If you’d like more information on what Fishers offers visit http://www.fishers.in.us/
