Existing and New Home Sales by County
In 2006, there were 30,449 homes sold compared to 31,032 in 2005, which is a decrease of only 2%. Typical of the real estate cycle, the fewest homes were sold in January, with 1,648 home sales closed; June had the most (3,480 sales).
Washington Township in Marion County had the most homes sold (2,225) and Decatur Township had the county's greatest sales growth (12.2% increase). Clay Township in Hamilton County had 1,693 homes sold in 2006.The Number of Homes Sold by County:
