A look at...Indianapolis Cultural Districts--The Canal and White River State Park

The Canal and White River State Park Located just west of downtown is the White River State Park and the Central Canal, both areas that boast lots to do and see all year round. The 250-acre White River State Park and the Canal allow outdoor enthusiasts lots of chances to enjoy walking and bicycling along the paths and gondola and paddle boat rides on the canal. The Lawn at White River State Park offers unique outdoor concerts and Victory Field is a great place to catch an Indianapolis Indians' baseball game. Other attractions include the Indianapolis Zoo, the Eiteljorg Museum, the Indiana State Museum, the NCAA Hall of Champions and IMAX Theatre. Broad Ripple Village Broad Ripple Village is found north of downtown Indianapolis, bordered by 61st Street to the south, 67 th Street to the north and College Avenue to the west. It is an eclectic collection of boutique shops, restaurants, art galleries and nightlife hotspots . Broad Ripple is also very pedestrian friendly, with beautiful greenways and parks like the Monon Trail and the Central Canal Towpath. Known for its artist roots, art lovers will find a great selection of local artisans . Shoppers will love all the unique shopping options--gifts, stationery, decorative accessories, retro and modern fashions, European couture. A look at...Indianapolis Cultural Districts--Wholesale District

In the next several blog posts, we'll take a closer look at the Cultural Districts of Indianapolis. First up...The Wholesale District The Wholesale District is bordered on the north by the Monument and the south by South Street. The Indiana Convention Center makes up the west border and Conseco Fieldhouse the east. Located within the Wholesale District are attractions like Circle Centre mall, the RCA Dome (and soon, Lucas Oil Stadium), the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Indiana Repertory Theatre. Excellent restaurants abound here as well, including Oceanaire Seafood Room, Palamino , St. Elmo's Steak House, Weber Grill Restaurant, and Capital Grille in the Conrad Hotel.
